Remote Construction Manager at SmartStop

Location: Montreal

Lead construction projects remotely with Smart Stop Self Storage, managing timelines, budgets, and vendor relations across Canada. This role requires regular travel to oversee site progress.

Smart Stop is seeking a skilled Construction Manager, reporting to the EVP of Canada. With a focus on project lifecycle management, you will negotiate contracts, monitor costs, and ensure projects adhere to schedules. The ideal candidate has robust experience in multi-site locations, especially in self-storage, and excels in communication and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Negotiate and issue contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders

• Monitor project costs and adjust contracts as necessary

• Develop strategies for schedule or budget recovery

• Prepare contractor progress draws and invoices promptly

• Maintain relationships with vendors and resolve project disputes

Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management

• Five years of direct construction management experience

• Multi-site project experience required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Valid driver's license and passport necessary
