Become a pivotal storyteller at CBC/Radio-Canada as a Journalist for the Maamuitaau show in Montreal. Drive audience engagement with powerful narratives about the James Bay Cree.

In this temporary position, you will be responsible for producing content that informs and entertains while connecting with the Cree community. The role emphasizes conducting interviews in Cree, writing scripts, and utilizing multi-platform strategies to communicate stories effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct interviews and transcribe content in Cree

• Develop scripts and package media for broadcast

• Research relevant stories and community contacts

• Collaborate closely with the production team

• Present stories on air with confidence

Requirements:

• High school degree or equivalent qualifications

• Relevant journalism or media production experience

• Proficient in East Cree and proficient in English

• Strong knowledge of current Cree community events

• Ability to manage deadlines and work on a flexible schedule
