Your role on the team:
Manage the customs brokerage process as defined by Customer specific and Location specific standard operating proceduresValidate correct classification and import duties and taxes paid, in compliance with contracted customer requirements and with all governmental and industry regulationsDocument services to be provided as agreed with the customer in a contract or SLA – service level agreement, if service to be provided is different from basic work instructions, provide operations with customer specific SOP – standard operating procedure, ensure operations understands additional service requirementsFunction as first point of contact for customers with Canada Customs, respond to customer requests, complete requests for additional information from Canada Customs, follow up with customers and Canada Customs until issues are resolved to the customer’s satisfactionFile compliant Customs and OGA entries and obtain release prior to arrivalIdentify customer needs or problems, coordinate with other departments to develop and create written procedures, training, and auditing, oversee implementation of required changes to processes and proceduresSolve problems, fix issues, expedite shipmentsCoordinate with other departments to respond to inquiries and resolve issuesMonitor reports, identify shipment exceptions, rectify potential service failuresIdentify corrective action required, follow up through completion of corrective actionProactively identify and rectify potential issuesAnalyze reports and statisticsComply with corporate, regional, branch, and department policies and proceduresRespond to issues as escalated, escalate unresolved issues to next management levelWhat you need:
Minimum of two years of experienceFluent in Import Regulations, Customs Brokerage process, and other import compliance issuesFamiliar with Import Regulations, Import License requirements, and other import compliance issuesFamiliarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelFamiliarity with the internetFluent in English, written and spokenAble to plan and organize a complex process from start to finishAble to organize and prioritize tasksAble to work effectively in a time constrained environment and meet strictly enforced daily deadlinesWilling to communicate with customers and colleagues and provide excellent customer serviceWhat you gain from joining our team:
