Delta1 Communications Centre is seeking an Emergency Dispatcher for on-call work, available 24/7/365. This role involves answering emergency calls, dispatching for fire, rescue, and enforcement personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. A successful candidate will have strong local knowledge, superior communication skills, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle emergency calls and gather critical incident details

• Dispatch for firefighting and rescue operations

• Make judgment-based decisions on responses and resources

• Maintain accurate records of call activities and communications

• Supervise field staff safety and follow up on missed check-ins

Requirements:

• One year of dispatch or customer service experience preferred

• Knowledge of Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Northern British Columbia

• Ability to type 40 words per minute with high accuracy

• Strong decision-making skills under pressure

• Fluent in English
