Oxford Learning St Laurent seeks part‑time teacher‑tutors to work with students in grades 7‑11 in mathematics and science. All lessons are pre‑planned, and tutors receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position RequirementsAll tutors work after‑school 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Saturdays 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, and may continue through the summer. The role is in‑person; relocation packages are not offered. A reliable commitment through the end of the academic year is preferred.
Education- CEGEP, bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
- Postsecondary students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current grades 7‑11 math and science curriculum, including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a grade 7‑11 level.
- Strong French/English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance work with up to three students at a time.
- Teach up to three students simultaneously at different levels.
- Work in person (no online instruction).
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Complete post‑lesson notes.
- Provide daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
