Support Nunavut youth in Ottawa as a Cultural Worker at Inuuqatigiit Centre. Emphasize cultural identity and community engagement through educational programs and mentorship.
Inuuqatigiit Centre for Inuit Children, Youth and Families is looking for a Cultural Worker to aid Nunavut youth in care. This full-time position involves developing trusting relationships with youth and providing necessary support to ensure their cultural pride and identity. You will implement educational programs that illustrate Inuit history and societal values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster meaningful connections with Inuit youth
• Conduct group activities centered on cultural education
• Offer emotional and crisis support as needed
• Collaborate with caregivers on youth safety strategies
• Guide youth in accessing community resources for personal growth
Requirements:
• Fluency in Inuktitut required
• 2-3 years' relevant experience with youth
• Experience working with Indigenous populations
• Post-secondary education in related fields is an asset
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification if not current
Advocate for cultural integrity and support youth development with Inuuqatigiit Centre.
