Job description

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Flight Instructor Simulator - Type II Instructor to join our Customer Services organization based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will represent Airbus Canada in front of the customers, operators and authorities. You will work with teams across the world and have the opportunity to develop expertise in various areas and roles, including management/project positions.

You will be part of the Airbus Canada Training Centre responsible for conceiving, building and delivering the best flight training and flight operations support to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of Airbus aircraft. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct the best possible training and checking according to your qualifications within Airbus Canada Training to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Airbus A220 (BD-500).
  • Instruct airline crews converting to Airbus A220 on all operational and technical aspects using, among others:
    Fixed Base Simulators, Classroom / Virtual Classroom, Airbus Pilots Training Devices (FSTDs), OTDs and Full Flight Simulators (FFS).
  • Work on different projects on demand within the Training and Flight Operations organization (TFOS).
  • Represent Airbus Canada Training and the Manufacturer in front of the customer, proactively identify potential problems and find solutions.
  • Ensure standardization, development and management tasks during your career within Airbus Canada.
  • Maintain and upgrade your competences according to your qualification.
  • Give stand‑up lectures to ensure airline crews can safely and correctly perform all normal and emergency procedures required by airworthiness authorities.
  • Adhere to Airbus standard policy and standardisation as required by Airbus Flight Training Operations.
  • Instruct crews within the defined time limits, evaluate their progression and decide, if needed, on extra sessions.
  • Participate in course development and/or standardization instruction on demand.
Qualifications
  • Hold or have held a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) & Frozen ATPL or an ATPL.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) as Pilot.
  • A minimum of 3,000 hours as Pilot.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours on Multi Pilot Aircraft (MPA).
  • Minimum of three years commercial aviation experience as pilot on FAR 25 / CS 25 or FAR 23 / CS 23 aircraft in Multi Pilot Operation (MPO), preferably on Airbus aircraft.
  • Highly recommended experience:
    Qualified (current) and experienced as Captain and Flight Instructor on BD-500 (an asset).
  • Synthetic Flight Instructor Authorization or experience as Instructor (an asset).
  • Examiner experience (an asset).
  • Evidence-based training / Competency Based Training Assessment expertise is required.
  • Project management minded.
  • Managerial experience (an asset).
  • Experience in Flight Safety (an asset).
  • Recognised for pedagogy, perseverance, flexibility, curiosity and adaptability.
  • Available for business trips worldwide.
  • Must have awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
