Position: TRAINING OFFICER (1533) at CBHSSJB Montreal)

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

A person who designs, updates, analyses and implements staff training programmes. They coordinate work placement programmes within the organisation.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
  • Work with managers to identify training needs for Wiichihiituwin staff;
  • Design induction training programmes for administrative staff under the guidance of Wiichihiituwin’s Administration and Logistics department, and assist with their implementation;
  • Develop and maintain training materials (guides, procedures, checklists, short videos or presentations).
  • Standardise training content to ensure procedures are applied consistently across all Wiichihiituwin service points;
  • Regularly update training content in line with organisational, technological or regulatory changes.
  • Create training tools and follow-up tools for use after training;
  • Deliver on-the-job training to employees at each of Wiichihiituwin’s service points;
  • Carry out follow-up after training sessions for quality assurance purposes;
  • Provide support to employees who have questions following training;
  • Participate in the coordination and synchronisation of training activities organised in collaboration with Human Resources for Wiichihiituwin employees;
  • Design and implement management tools to ensure the compilation of training activities for the Wiichihiituwin department;
  • Produce various types of reports, including statistical data;
  • Carry out any other tasks as requested by their line manager.
REQUIREMENTS Education
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic discipline.
Experience
  • At least three years’ relevant experience in training or workplace teaching, ideally with healthcare staff.
  • Experience with Care4 and Nomadis software is an advantage.
Knowledge and Abilities
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations, the healthcare system, departmental programmes and current trends within the MSSS;
  • Knowledge of Cree culture and language, as well as the social and health issues faced by the Eeyou Istchee community (an asset);
  • Training skills for different age groups;
  • Ability to analyse, simplify and implement complex administrative and logistical processes;
  • Ability to review and organise teamwork;
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with all managers and other staff within the organisation;
  • Ability to manage ambiguous situations and make decisions in a complex workplace;
  • An approach focused on continuous improvement and problem-solving;
  • Good organisational skills, autonomy and the ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines;
  • Computer skills (Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
LANGUAGE
  • Fluent in English;
  • Fluency in Cree and/or French is an asset.
OTHER
  • You should expect to travel to the four (4) Wiichihiituwin service points.
