APTPUO - Fall​/Winter- PED - Practicum Primary​/Junior Division ; Ottawa

Position: APTPUO - Fall2026/Winter2027 - PED 32001/32002- Practicum in the Primary/Junior Division I (Ottawa)
Duties   Observation, reflection, and practice teaching in the primary/junior division classrooms as identified by the regulations of the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Ontario College of Teachers. The associate teacher provides mentoring and feedback as well as formative and summative evaluations of teacher candidates.
Duration   Sept 1 - April 30 2027
Course Structure   Hybrid means that all courses include ten in-person sessions offered on campus at the University of Ottawa (30 in-person instructional hours) and two online course modules, delivered through Brightspace, which provide the equivalent of 6 instructional hours.

Qualifications     Master's degree in education
Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario
Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level
Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers
Competence in second language: Passive
Compensation and Work Hours   Hourly Rate: $239.47 )

These rates do not include vacation pay nor statutory pay. These rates will be applied until a current collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.
Additional Information   An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
