Urban Sustainability Professor

Position: University of Ottawa Urban Sustainability Professor
Engage with the University of Ottawa as an Assistant Professor in Urban Sustainability, effective July 1, 2027. This tenure-track position emphasizes teaching and research in urban resilience.

The Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics is looking for a dedicated scholar who can contribute to urban environmental studies. Applicants should focus on housing, transportation, and community mobilization in the context of climate change. Teaching responsibilities will be bilingual, requiring competence in both French and English.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach urban sustainability courses effectively

• Lead innovative research efforts and grant proposals

• Mentor students at undergraduate and graduate levels

• Participate in departmental governance and service

• Share research findings through mobilization techniques

Requirements:

• Completed Ph.D. by July 1, 2027 in Geography or related discipline

• Strong skills in communication in both official languages

• Proven track record in research and publication

• Ability to attract external funding for projects

• Successful teaching experience in higher education
