Join the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board as an Itinerant Educational Assistant, delivering proactive support to enhance student learning and well-being in a multi-disciplinary setting.
This 100% regular, ten-month position provides vital support for students with diverse learning needs, focusing on strategies for mental health and development, including Autism. As an Itinerant Educational Assistant, you’ll work closely with school teams to provide collaborative assistance, modeling techniques and facilitating skill development. Your background in behavior management systems will be key.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide social-emotional skill building for small groups
• Develop and present professional learning workshops
• Work with various school teams on student support
• Build capacity in staff through modeling
• Maintain strong communication with families and services
Requirements:
• DSW diploma or similar education required
• 5+ years of experience with children with exceptionalities
• Experience with Collaborative Problem Solving preferred
• Access to a vehicle and valid Driver's License
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Suicide Prevention preferred
