Teach Indigenous Education (EDEC 233-001/002) at McGill University this Winter 2027. Engage deeply with Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies while fostering understanding in pre-service teachers.
The Department of Integrated Studies in Education at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for EDEC 233 focused on Indigenous Education. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree or possess substantial relevant experience. This in-person course, scheduled for Fridays from 11:35 am to 02:25 pm, offers 3 credits and encourages exploration of diverse social and cultural histories within Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging lectures on Indigenous knowledge and pedagogy
• Facilitate discussions that promote understanding of diverse perspectives
• Foster partnerships with Indigenous communities relevant to course content
• Attend course coordination meetings before course commencement
• Assess students’ understanding and course participation
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Education or related field
• Experience with Indigenous communities and education
• Knowledge of Quebec Education program
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms and tools
• Commitment to equity and diversity in education
Contribute significantly to shaping future educators' understanding of Indigenous perspectives at McGill University.
