The Department of Mechanical Engineering is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Winter 2027. Please include your cover letter and Curriculum Vitae.
Course Lecturer MECH 642 - Advanced Dynamics (4 credits)Instructor must cover all material as written in the Course Outline on the McGill Course Catalogue page, as follows:
- Variational methods. Hamilton's principle and equations of motion of engineering systems. Lagrangian formulations for discrete systems. Methods of discretizing continuous systems. Rigid body dynamics. Dynamic behaviour of linear and nonlinear systems. Response of engineering systems to deterministic inputs by classical methods. Stability of linear and nonlinear systems.
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience or in industry
- Good knowledge of dynamic mechanisms
- Demonstrated knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Understanding cross-cultural practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and flexible approach to teaching.
