About the PositionNakwaye Ku Early Learning Centre is looking to grow our team of Auxiliary On-Call Early Childhood Educators who have the flexibility and willingness to support our centre when coverage is needed.
Our auxiliary educators play an important role in maintaining continuity of care, supporting our teaching teams, and ensuring that children continue to experience a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment when regular staff are away or additional coverage is required.
This is an opportunity to become part of our learning community, build relationships with children and educators, and contribute to the daily life of our centre while maintaining flexibility in your work schedule.
We are looking for educators who are reliable, responsive, and comfortable adapting to different classroom environments, routines, and team dynamics. Whether you are an experienced early childhood educator, a recent graduate, or someone looking to gain further experience in the field, we welcome individuals who share our commitment to relationship-based and inclusive early learning.
About Our Learning CommunityAt Nakwaye Ku Early Learning Centre, we are a Reggio-inspired, relationship-based learning community that values emergent curriculum, social-emotional learning, nature-based programming, and Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
We see educators as listeners, learners, guides, and co-explorers. We believe that children learn through relationships—with themselves, their peers, their families, the land, and their community.
Our educators play an important role in creating an environment where every child feels seen, heard, valued, and celebrated. We recognize that every interaction, whether it is a moment of play, a shared conversation, helping a child through a transition, or exploring the land together, is an opportunity for connection and learning.
We are committed to ongoing reflection and learning as we work toward creating culturally responsive, inclusive, and welcoming spaces for every child and family.
We take care of ourselves. We take care of each other. We take care of the land.
