Air Canada is presently looking for dynamic individuals to fill the permanent full‑time positions of Structures & Sheet Metal Technicians at our Montreal Maintenance Centre.
Job Description- Carry out and certify sheet metal and composite repairs to aircraft components and Company/contract aircraft.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance work.
- Perform required inspections, evaluations, and Maintenance Releases (MR).
- Resolve material, tooling, and engineering issues affecting the production plan.
- Estimate and define planned repairs.
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to ATs and other AMEs.
- Coordinate and supervise personnel to maximize production flow with TLs and Planners.
- Sign maintenance releases (MR) for non‑licensed or ad hoc personnel.
- Perform GVIs, DVIs, conformity inspections, self‑checks, and Required Inspection Items (RII).
- Sign off defects to defined standards and provide oversight of defect management.
- Complete and verify all technical records and data entries.
- Ensure Airworthiness (AW) and safety policies, processes, and standards are followed.
- Mentor, train, and coach maintenance personnel.
- Ensure adequate work hand‑off information is provided to MOC and subsequent shifts.
- Maintain a safe and tidy workplace.
- Maintain familiarity with Transport Canada and Company manuals.
- Ability to read Structural Repair manuals and obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator Permit.
- Other related duties as assigned.

- Graduation from a Transport Canada approved school in the Structural Program and/or relevant aircraft experience in Sheet Metal/Composite work
- Possession of a Transport Canada (MOT) Structures "S" license (or working towards/expected to obtain)
- Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in Canada.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects under pressure
- Available to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Highly flexible, adaptable, and a motivated team player.
- Effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while demonstrating punctuality and dependability.
- Ability to pass security clearance and obtain the Transport Canada security card (MOT).
- Endorsements on Air Canada aircraft types.
- Current security clearance.
