About
The Role The Bilingual (English/French) Health & Safety Trainer & Consultant is a hands‑on, client‑facing role that combines engaging safety training with practical consulting support. You will work directly with workers, supervisors, and leadership teams in both English and French to strengthen compliance, reduce risk, and improve workplace safety culture.
This is an individual contributor role for a seasoned safety professional who thrives on the field, enjoys building client relationships, and takes pride in delivering high‑impact training and actionable solutions. You will see the results of your work firsthand — on job sites, in classrooms, and through long‑term client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities Training Delivery Deliver engaging, interactive, and outcomes‑focused health and safety training programs in both English and French
Adapt training content to meet client‑specific needs while ensuring alignment with Ontario OH&S legislation and industry best practices
Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment that encourages participation and real‑world application
Stay current on legislative changes, standards, and emerging safety trends
Support onboarding and mentoring of junior trainers as needed (non‑supervisory)
Consulting & Client Support Conduct safety gap audits, hazard assessments, and program reviews for client organizations
Provide clear, practical recommendations to support compliance and continuous improvement
Partner with client leadership to identify risks, close gaps, and strengthen safety culture
Assist clients with the development and improvement of safety policies, procedures, and programs
Act as a trusted advisor, representing Safety Co with professionalism and integrity
Operational & Business Support Deliver training and consulting services on time and to a high-quality standard
Identify additional training or consulting opportunities based on client needs and refer appropriately
Maintain accurate documentation for training sessions, certifications, and consulting activities
Travel to client sites as required and support in‑office or virtual projects when needed
Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience delivering adult education or safety training
Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and associated regulations
Experience in safety consulting: audits, hazard assessments, or program development
Fluent in both English and French, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages
Excellent facilitation, presentation, and client‑facing communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Valid provincial driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and smartphone with data
Assets Certifications such as Working at Heights, MEWP, Forklift, Confined Space
Background in occupational health & safety management or consulting
