SAP EAM Functional Consultant

Role Overview The SAP EAM Functional Consultant will be responsible for enabling and validating Enterprise Asset Management processes during the S/4

HANA brownfield conversion program for a railroad organization. This role focuses on process alignment, integration validation, configuration adjustments, and testing to ensure compliance with mandated changes and seamless transition from ECC to S/4

HANA.Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

At least 11 years of experience with Information Technology The location for this position is Montreal, QC. The Position may require travel to project/Client's location.

Key Responsibilities Process & Functional Alignment Conduct EAM Process Mapping:
Review SAP Simplification Item List and document mandatory changes impacting Maintenance Planning, Work Orders, and Notifications.

Validate Asset & Inspection Processes:
Ensure preventive maintenance, calibration, and inspection lot processes align with S/4

HANA standards.

Facilitate Functional Alignment Workshops:
Collaborate with engineering, environmental, mechanical, and facilities teams to align on mandated EAM capabilities and process changes.

Integration & Data Validate Integration Scenarios:
Confirm EAM integration with MM (spare parts), FI-AA (asset accounting), SD, CFIN, TIS, and PS (projects) in S/4

HANA.Perform Master Data Review:
Validate equipment, functional locations, BOMs, and task lists for compatibility with S/4

HANA data model.

Define Data Migration Strategy:
Establish approach for selective data carve-out for EAM objects.

Configuration & Compliance Update Configuration Elements:
Adjust maintenance plans, order types, and notification types per S/4

HANA requirements.

Review and update SOX Controls impacted by process changes; document test evidence.

Testing & Documentation Prepare Unit Test Plans for ECC EAM processes and integration scenarios.

Execute Unit Tests, log defects, perform RCA, and maintain resolution documentation.

Update Functional Specifications, process flows, and integration documents for audit and handover.

Project Deliverables

EAM process mapping and documentation based on Simplification Item List.

Integration validation of EAM functionalities with S/4

HANA.Data migration strategy for EAM objects.

SOX controls update and testing documentation.

Unit Test Plan and execution results for remediated custom functionality.

Updated functional specifications for WRICEF objects.

Assumptions Existing mobile applications remain unchanged; no redesign expected.

No adoption of new S/4

HANA EAM features (AIN, Predictive Maintenance).CN does not use IBIP Batch Input for transactional data creation.

Synchronization of locomotive hierarchical asset structure is not part of the conversion scope.

Required Skills & Experience

SAP EAM expertise in ECC and S/4

HANA environments.

Strong understanding of maintenance planning, work orders, notifications, and preventive maintenance processes.

Experience with integration points: MM, FI-AA, SD, PS, and CFIN.Knowledge of SOX compliance, FRA and audit documentation.

Hands-on experience in data migration strategy and unit testing.

Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in railroad or transportation industry.

Familiarity with brownfield conversion projects.

SAP certification in EAM or Plant Maintenance.
