A Snapshot of Your Day
The Mechanical Integrity Specialist is a key member of AGT product development projects; focused on developing and improving analytical understanding of critical gas turbine rotating parts. Day-to-day activities include the building of analysis models using bespoke and commercial FE analysis software, solution of models to support product attribute understanding and resolution of key product issues and opportunities. You will actively contribute in group forums to establish appropriate best practice and tactics to overcome analytical and program challenges, together with providing frequent project progress updates.

You will work individually or as part of a team and will be involved in various aspects of stress, lifing and integrity analysis on a system and sub-system levelYou will work with technical specialists in the design and manufacturing fields to support component manufacture and engine life managementYou will support the mentoring and development of junior mechanical integrity department membersWhere possible you will look for opportunities to build on prior knowledge when generating solutionsYou will advise product management in understanding technical risk levels associated with in-service issuesIn response to field failures, you will take part in root cause analysis for components in which you’ve developed a specializationYou will take part in, or lead, detailed technical audits of models, stress analyses and lifing reportsWhat You Bring
You have experience with FE analysis software, preferably using the codes Abaqus and/or SC03You have the legal right to work in Canada or work for a company which supports an internal transfer to take this positionYou should have prior experience in industry, ideally in some or all of the following analytical skills: fatigue, damage tolerance, integrity assessmentsYou should be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to write accurate, detailed and concise technical reportsYou are motivated by being part of a multi-disciplinary analytical teamYou are interested in gas turbine technology and how it can be developed to remain a relevant technology through the energy transitionYou are excited to create engineering solutions
