WSP has a new opportunity for a Contaminated Sites Project Manager to join our Remediation Program Management team based in Kingston, Toronto, London and Ottawa. This role requires managing risk and closure of contaminated sites, designing and overseeing field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating sites impacted by hydrocarbons (diesel, gasoline, crude oil, etc.), fertilizers, and metals, and preparing technical reports.
The ideal candidate is self‑motivated with strong time‑management and communication skills.

What you can expect to do here:
Create a safe and positive environment for colleagues.
Lead a project team and take on responsibilities including:
Preparing health and safety plans and emergency response plans.
Preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
Scheduling of field staff and subcontractors.
Report writing, including preparing conclusions and recommendations.
Project accounting, tracking and reporting per WSP’s Master Services Agreements.
Training junior staff in environmental practices such as Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, and remediation oversight.
Training staff on site‑specific health and safety.
Manage client relationships.
Collaborate across the national RPM team and WSP.
Provide guidance and mentorship to environmental scientists.
Develop a personal career development plan with specific goals to achieve your career aspirations.
What you’ll bring to WSP
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (sciences and/or Engineering).
Minimum 8 years of experience in contaminated site assessments.
Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures and a safety‑conscious attitude.
An analytical mind capable of making recommendations on next steps for client sites.
Strong business acumen and financial management experience, including developing, tracking and forecasting annual budgets.
Previous experience with soil and groundwater sampling and remediation.
Understanding of Ontario Environmental regulations.
Professional designation is preferred.
Experience in the oil and gas sector is an asset.
Preference for candidates with extensive experience in soil and groundwater monitoring programs, Phase I and II ESAs, site remediation, and provincial regulations.
