About the role
As an R&D II, Embedded Systems, you will be an integral part of our product development process, ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and compliance. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to translate user needs into detailed system and software requirements, develop design architectures, and contribute to risk management and validation activities. Your expertise will help us create innovative solutions in a highly regulated environment, directly impacting the success of our products and ultimately improving lives.
Your responsibilities will include:
Participates on project teams to translate user needs into design requirements (e.g. hardware, software, mechanical, electrical, interface, etc.) consisting of system/sub-system specifications.Manage System and Embedded Software level requirements and generate requirements traceability via the use of a requirements management tool.Participate in developing System and Embedded Software level design architectures.Document and architect communication protocols between the different sub-systems (software, firmware & FPGAs)Contribute to the product’s risk management file – Hazard Analysis, Design FMEA, and Process FMEAs.Perform engineering bench studies and write technical reports.Provides expertise and conducts evaluation of validation and verification activities.Initiate and document design change assessments for new and sustaining products.Assist in bridging sub-system designs and integrating features at a system level.Works with a cross-functional team and serves as an R&D representative on cross-functional deliverables.Continuously improve processes and work methodologies (using agile/lean principles to eliminate waste) to help solve complex, interdisciplinary problems by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups.Having a strong understanding of a highly regulated industry’s design control processes.Other duties as required.Required qualifications:
Bachelors or Master’s in electrical/biomedical/embedded software engineering, or related field.2+ years of experience with product development activities in a regulated industry.Experience in systems engineering, systems verification activities and embedded systems software design.Experience with authoring and analyzing requirements.Experience with system and component level architecture development (structural and behavioral diagrams).Experience with embedded systems architecture communication protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.).Experience with a requirement management tool (Jama, Polarion, Rational DOORS).Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment.Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.Preferred qualifications:
Understanding of hardware design and trade-offs, embedded (real-time) software tradeoffs, performance, and redundancy issues.Extensive technical knowledge of advanced testing concepts and formal embedded software, software and systems verification strategies for regulated software.Understanding of model-based system engineering, and familiarity with a modeling language (sysml, uml).Experience with project tracking and version controlling tools.Understanding of cybersecurity practices and methodologies (threat modeling).Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, ISO 15288, ISO 42010.Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence key stakeholders both internal and external to the organization.À propos du poste
