Volatus Aerospace is establishing Canada’s first sovereign RPAS capability through the development and production of newly acquired aircraft platforms. As part of this initiative, we are building a world‑class RPAS Innovation and Manufacturing Hub in Mirabel to support global market.
Job OverviewVolatus Aerospace seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to help establish and optimize our production operations. This role is ideal for a hands‑on professional who is eager to build and refine manufacturing processes within a high‑tech aerospace environment from the ground up. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing efficient, scalable, and compliant production systems to support the assembly and delivery of advanced RPAS platforms.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational readiness, process efficiency, and on‑time program execution, contributing directly to the success of one of Canada’s most significant aerospace programs.
This position is based in Mirabel, Quebec.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes for drone assembly and testing.
- Configure, maintain and Net Suite MRPfor BOMs, routings, and production scheduling.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and Controlled Goods Program (CGP) compliance.
- Lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and operations teams on new product introductions (NPI).
- Bachelor’s in manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering (aerospace/UAV preferred).
- Hands-on experience with
NetSuite MRP or similar ERP/MRP systems. - Proficiency in DFM,process optimization, and lean manufacturing tools(5S, value stream mapping, Kaizen).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and controlled goods compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners
- Bilingual (English/French) is a pre-requisite and comfortable in a startup or greenfield environment.
