Volatus Aerospace is establishing Canada’s first sovereign RPAS capability through the development and production of advanced aircraft platforms. As part of this initiative, we are building a world‑class RPAS Innovation and Manufacturing Hub in Mirabel to support global markets.

Job overview

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced bilingual Supply Chain Specialist to manage the full procurement lifecycle, from identifying operational requirements and sourcing qualified suppliers to negotiating contracts and ensuring the timely delivery of high‑quality goods and services.

This role plays a critical part in supporting production readiness, cost control, and supplier performance within a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams to ensure materials and services meet technical specifications, compliance requirements, and program timelines.

This position is essential to the successful execution of one of Canada’s most significant aerospace programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sourcing & Vendor Management:
    Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers to secure the best value, quality, and service.
  • Negotiation & Contracting:
    Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and agreements with vendors.
  • Purchasing Operations:
    Create, process, and track purchase orders (POs) and invoices, ensuring accuracy and maintaining appropriate inventory level.
  • Strategic Sourcing:
    Analyze market trends, assess supply chain risks, and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, finance, business, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Negotiation

    Skills:

    Strong ability to negotiate with vendors for best pricing and terms.
  • Analytical Abilities:
    Proficiency in analyzing market data and supplier performance.
  • Software Proficiency:
    Experience with ERP systems and procurement software, specifically with Netsuite’s MRP.
  • Communication:
    Excellent interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) is a pre‑requisite.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering workflows, prototype build processes, and/or aircraft development life cycles.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, Transport Canada Part IX, military airworthiness, or NATO STANAG frameworks (asset).
  • Able to thrive in dynamic environments with evolving requirements and priorities.
Hours of Work & Work Environment
  • Standard 40‑hour workweek, Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional flexibility may be required to support time‑sensitive activities.
