The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Head of Loads and Aeroelastics to join our engineering team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). You will be part of the Flight Physics team responsible for delivering optimized aircraft solutions to support overall aircraft architecture and integration. The team organization is established to promote cross‑collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Responsibilities
  • Manage an engineering team in charge of aircraft loads (static/fatigue), flight‑control‑law validation, and aeroelastics analysis.
  • Ensure all processes, methods and tools necessary for the team are maintained and coordinate development of new methods and tools as needed.
  • Develop and lead the team performing load and aeroelastics activities for A220 modifications and support to production and in‑service operation.
  • Be accountable for delivering on time, at cost, with quality, performance and safety requirements.
  • Ensure collaboration and coordination with other engineering stakeholders outside the team for proper project execution.
  • Elaborate, maintain and enhance the integration of the team with the relevant Airbus Centre of Competence in Europe in terms of ways of working, processes, methods and tools.
  • Help the team grow in technical skills and career perspective with the Airbus Centre of Competence in Europe.
  • Foster good cooperation with other functions, especially the Chief Engineering teams.
  • Provide managerial leadership in decision‑making processes.
  • Develop and plan the budget and resource (capacity and capability) needs for the team, including make‑or‑buy policies, aligned with the CoC strategy, commitments, and partnership with the Airbus CoC in Europe.
  • Build a network and local partnership for innovation and research & development in line with the overall Airbus strategy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master’s University degree in Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the aerospace industry and at least 5 years of experience in loads and aeroelastics.
  • Strong leadership skills aligned with the Airbus leadership model and values.
  • Engineering experience in one or more aircraft development programs.
  • Experience in technical team management.
  • Resourceful, creative, and adaptable in rapidly changing situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with subject‑matter experts.
  • Strong project and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Take responsibility for expected technical results and maintain a high level of personal commitment to deliver within deadlines.
  • Good analytical, problem‑resolution, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues and summarize risks, key actions and next steps.
  • Good oral and written skills in English and French.
