Ciena Electro-Optic Engineering Intern

Ciena is offering an 8- to 12-month internship in its Electro-Optic R&D group. You will engage in hands-on research, support system integration, and collaborate with diverse teams. Eligible candidates should be working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and possess programming skills in Matlab, Python, or similar languages.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform lab characterization of advanced optical devices
• Automate tests and simulations using Matlab scripts
• Model electro-optic components and subsystems
• Work closely with firmware, PCB, and DSP teams for integration
Requirements:
• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated programming experience in a relevant language
• Hands-on experience in hardware labs preferred
