Responsibilities
  • Manage a multi-site team of Electrical engineers
  • Liaise with Electrical and Lighting Suppliers to progress technical solutions towards certification.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the definition of future aircraft, proposing innovative and competitive solutions.
  • Develop or adapt tools and processes according to the needs of the function to achieve our organizational objectives.
  • Responsible for all the functional activities and reporting within the department (Knowledge Domains, Critical Skills Review, Critical Knowledge Level, conferences, etc.) and execute the yearly Bombardier Manuals roadmap.
  • Ensure that adequate engineering resources are assigned to tasks to meet product development deadlines and project execution.
  • Set annual employee objectives, evaluate performance, establish salary and recommendations for career progression.
  • Be accountable for your group's performance – delivering on time, on budget, and with quality to support company objectives.
  • Ensure a positive and healthy work environment for employees (communication, recognition, coaching and career development plans/opportunities).
  • Provide visibility on execution, problems encountered and escalate as needed to your director or the other members of the organization.
  • Manage and resolve priority conflicts within own department and with internal customers.
  • Participate in the recruitment and integration of new employees.
  • Participate in budget preparation and be responsible for the management of financial resources.
  • Review/approve technical engineering impacts related to Electrical and Lighting activities and ensure compliance.
  • Identify training and travel required to support business needs.
  • Support Supplier and Aircraft Testing activities.
  • Ensure adequate support from the team for Production line and in-service aircrafts.
  • Lead Research and Technology strategic Electrical or Lighting projects.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Electrical, Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
  • 15+ years in the aerospace industry with a strong understanding of Electrical and Lighting requirements in development, production, and sustaining activities.
  • Experience in integration and a good understanding of how systems work and interact within the overall aircraft.
  • Experience with aircraft Electrical and Lighting integration.
  • Interest in business aviation improvement and strategic thinking.
  • Minimum of 5 years of positive experience in a management position.
  • Team player, works in a multidisciplinary team, demonstrates strong organizational and managerial skills (planning and prioritization).
  • Creative problem solver who can bring ideas to fruition.
  • Works in an agile and flexible manner and can juggle multiple tasks while addressing priorities.
  • Good oral and written skills (French and English), can effectively communicate achievements and challenges to technical and non-technical management.
  • Knowledge of aeronautical product certification is an asset.
  • Experience in developing new products and supporting products in service.
