Insight Global is looking to hire an Avionics Systems Engineer. This candidate will play a key role in the development, integration, testing, and certification of advanced avionics and aircraft electrical systems supporting commercial and military aircraft programs. This includes aircraft modernization initiatives, avionics upgrades, system expansions, and new platform developments. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and certification authorities to ensure successful system integration and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of avionics systems engineering, aircraft integration, or aerospace systems development experience
- Knowledge of aircraft avionics and electrical systems integration
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with aircraft certification and qualification standards including DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP
4754A, ARP
4761, FAR/AWM 27 or 29, and relevant MIL-STDs - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Bilingual English/French is considered an asset
- Analyze aircraft system, production, and certification requirements to develop avionics and electrical system solutions
- Support system integration activities including component selection, interface compatibility assessments, electrical schematics, and installation requirements
- Develop and manage system requirements, specifications, architectures, and interfaces using requirements management tools
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on the development, integration, and testing of communication, navigation, display, sensor, and vehicle management systems
- Prepare certification plans, qualification plans, conformity matrices, and technical documentation supporting FAA, TCCA, EASA, and military certification requirements
- Develop test plans and procedures while supporting Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL), LRU, ground, and flight testing activities
- Perform engineering analyses related to electrical loads, thermal performance, EMC, HIRF, lightning protection, system safety, and reliability assessments
- Support troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and validation activities throughout the development and certification lifecycle
- Review supplier technical documentation and provide technical guidance on system integration and certification activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while supporting technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and certification authorities
