Job Description
You have experience with industrial equipment, have worked in the industrial or aerospace sector and want to grow and develop new skills? This position is for you! The tooling department plays a key role in supporting production for the Airbus A220 program at the Mirabel (Quebec) and Mobile (Alabama) sites. By joining the team, you will be responsible for designing, supplying and maintaining the equipment required for the final assembly lines (FAL).
Your main role will be to ensure progress on these projects while strictly respecting schedules, budgets and costs. You will ensure that each delivered solution meets the highest standards of quality and safety, while complying with company standards, occupational health and safety criteria, and the requirements of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
- Coordinate and lead a team of technical planners specialized in tooling estimation and procurement.
- Distribute workload and ensure the technical development of your team members.
- Develop ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) and delivery schedules for new projects to provide reliable budget estimates from the feasibility phase.
- Manage and take responsibility for strategic tooling procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with commercial and technical clauses.
- Drive supplier relationships by closely monitoring critical milestones for each project.
- Ensure adherence to delivery schedules and implement action plans in case of deviation.
- Define, extract and analyze performance indicators (KPIs) related to activity (cost compliance, on-time delivery, tooling quality).
- Prepare periodic activity reports for management.
- Manage project financial resources effectively to keep expenditures within the planned budget while achieving objectives.
- Collaborate closely with methods, finance and procurement teams, suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Interpret, understand and comply with technical plans and specifications.
- Facilitate multi-department meetings and ensure each team member is engaged.
- Find solutions to issues encountered during the project.
- Present project progress reports.
- You hold an engineering degree (bachelor's or equivalent) in mechanical, industrial or aeronautical engineering, or have equivalent professional experience.
- You have a specialization in product design, industrial project management or tooling (an asset).
- You have a minimum of 10 years' experience in the industrial sector or in a similar business development/contract management role.
- You have experience in planning, monitoring, schedule and cost management and coordinating across different teams.
- You have experience in team coordination or cross-functional project management.
- You are able to work with external suppliers and to monitor the manufacturing and assembly of equipment.
- You can work with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, technicians, managers...) and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- You have strong organizational skills, rigor and attention to detail.
