Position: Engineering Specialist - Air System Sizing (Performance)
Location: mirabel

About the role

You have a solid expertise in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. Apply your calculation and simulation skills to define the architecture of future complex aeronautical systems, work on air/pneumatic systems (ATA 21, 30, 36), and develop new skills. The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for an Air System Sizing (Performance) Engineer (ATA 21, 30, 36) to join the Hydromechanical Systems Centre of Competence team in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Calculate and review the performance of air management systems.
  • Define technical capabilities and ensure optimization of air management system performance throughout their lifecycle.
  • Perform sizing of air systems (pressurization, air conditioning, anti-icing) to meet aircraft requirements.
  • Model and simulate the thermodynamic performance of the system to ensure airworthiness and energy efficiency.
  • Define and verify performance requirements (flow rates, pressures, temperatures) with interfaced systems and suppliers.
  • Analyze the impact of technical modifications on overall performance and certification margins.
  • Support flight and ground test campaigns by analysing data to correlate performance models.
  • Present analysis results and design justifications to various management levels and authorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in sizing, thermodynamics, or performance analysis of aeronautical systems.
  • Proficiency in air systems (ATA 21, 30, 36) and fluid/thermal simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of FAR 25/CAR 525 certification processes related to system performance.
  • Ability to work autonomously in an international environment with professional proficiency in French and English.

  • Possible on-call duties during weekends and/or holiday seasons.
