We are looking for a Satellite Systems Platform Engineer to join our Satellite Systems team in Montreal.
Responsibilities- Provide RF and electrical system design, performance analysis, implementation and testing for SAR or Telecommunication satellite systems related to Telemetry, Command and Ranging, Bus Power & Thermal, and Attitude Control Systems.
- Perform system worst‑case analysis and support all program reviews (EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR).
- Write engineering documentation: system requirements, SOC, verification and validation matrix, design description, system budgets, equipment specifications, test requirements, RFD/RFW.
- Support satellite/platform assembly integration and test, including EGSE, test supervision, data analysis, and in‑orbit test (IOT).
- Assist with DC & RF harness design, platform and payload layout, and technical monitoring of major subcontractors.
- Lead payload or platform design activities and participate in integrated product teams, traveling to partner facilities outside Canada as needed.
- Write up subsystem operations manuals and support satellite/ platform testing at MDA facilities or supplier premises.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical or aerospace engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Previous design and AIT experience with GEO and LEO satellite systems.
- Strong understanding of the space environment, orbit mechanics, aerospace systems and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience testing satellite subsystems and RF systems, including qualification and acceptance testing.
- Hands‑on individual capable of leading all systems integration processes.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
- Experience creating or using models and/or simulation software.
- Experience leading a technical team and supporting spacecraft operations in critical phases.
- Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the SECRET Status Level II and pass the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) security assessment.
