As a Technical Expert, you will act as a key integrator and technical authority, ensuring seamless integration of aircraft structures and systems across the full product lifecycle.
You will:
- Lead the development of conceptual layouts and integration solutions for structures and systems across the complete airframe.
- Define and manage interfaces, installation requirements, and system architecture to ensure compatibility and performance.
- Perform and lead trade studies and optimization activities (weight, cost, performance, manufacturability).
- Act as a focal point across multidisciplinary teams: stress, systems, interiors, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, mass properties, manufacturing, and quality.
- Coordinate technical alignment with partners, suppliers, and other Bombardier engineering teams.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members.
- Generate preliminary and detailed design concepts using 3D modeling tools.
- Support production, manufacturing, and shop floor issue resolution.
- Ensure robust Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Support verification & validation (V&V), test definition, and execution.
- Ensure designs meet airworthiness, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to certification strategy, compliance demonstration, and qualification requirements.
- Manage engineering modifications through full lifecycle and configuration control processes.
- Provide input to impact assessments (technical, cost, schedule, risks).
- Track and manage technical risks, dependencies, and design maturity.
- Provide clear status reporting to project and functional leadership.
- Ensure PLM data integrity and configuration management (ENOVIA/Teamcenter).
- Contribute to process improvements, design standards, and lessons learned.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering or related industry.
- Aircraft structures and/or systems installation and integration.
- Configuration development, preliminary sizing, and detailed design.
- Design for manufacturing, assembly, and industrialization.
- Materials & processes, GD&T, and aerospace design standards.
- Weight control and optimization.
- Certification requirements (CAR/FAR/CS) and compliance processes.
- Proficiency in: CATIA V5, ENOVIA, MS Office.
- Knowledge of: NX, Teamcenter.
- PLM systems and configuration control.
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems operation and interfaces.
- Manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- In-service operation and maintenance constraints.
- Aircraft interiors integration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical integration across multiple stakeholders.
- Work in high-pressure, complex program environments.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Fluent in French and English (mandatory).
