What are your contributions to the team?

As a Technical Expert, you will act as a key integrator and technical authority, ensuring seamless integration of aircraft structures and systems across the full product lifecycle.

You will:

  • Lead the development of conceptual layouts and integration solutions for structures and systems across the complete airframe.
  • Define and manage interfaces, installation requirements, and system architecture to ensure compatibility and performance.
  • Perform and lead trade studies and optimization activities (weight, cost, performance, manufacturability).
2. Cross-functional Leadership
  • Act as a focal point across multidisciplinary teams: stress, systems, interiors, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, mass properties, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Coordinate technical alignment with partners, suppliers, and other Bombardier engineering teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Generate preliminary and detailed design concepts using 3D modeling tools.
  • Support production, manufacturing, and shop floor issue resolution.
  • Ensure robust Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
4. Certification, Validation & Compliance
  • Support verification & validation (V&V), test definition, and execution.
  • Ensure designs meet airworthiness, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to certification strategy, compliance demonstration, and qualification requirements.
5. Program & Change Management
  • Manage engineering modifications through full lifecycle and configuration control processes.
  • Provide input to impact assessments (technical, cost, schedule, risks).
  • Track and manage technical risks, dependencies, and design maturity.
  • Provide clear status reporting to project and functional leadership.
6. Continuous Improvement & Digital Engineering
  • Ensure PLM data integrity and configuration management (ENOVIA/Teamcenter).
  • Contribute to process improvements, design standards, and lessons learned.
How to thrive in this role?
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering or related industry.
Technical Expertise
  • Aircraft structures and/or systems installation and integration.
  • Configuration development, preliminary sizing, and detailed design.
  • Design for manufacturing, assembly, and industrialization.
  • Materials & processes, GD&T, and aerospace design standards.
  • Weight control and optimization.
  • Certification requirements (CAR/FAR/CS) and compliance processes.
Tools & Methods
  • Proficiency in: CATIA V5, ENOVIA, MS Office.
  • Knowledge of: NX, Teamcenter.
  • PLM systems and configuration control.
Operational & Business Acumen
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems operation and interfaces.
  • Manufacturing processes and capabilities.
  • In-service operation and maintenance constraints.
  • Aircraft interiors integration.
Leadership & Soft Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical integration across multiple stakeholders.
  • Work in high-pressure, complex program environments.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
Languages
  • Fluent in French and English (mandatory).
