Description
- Location: Mirabel (QC)
- Company: AAA Canada (mandate for a major aerospace player)
- Schedule: Day shift
- Assignment: full-time, one-year temporary contract
- Flexible work arrangement: primarily on-site at the start, with the possibility of remote work
- Start date: as soon as possible (urgent need)
About the project:
As part of a strategic project to restart the manufacture of spare parts, we are seeking a self-directed consultant with strong experience in aerospace manufacturing.
The person will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing sources of supply for low-volume parts, while ensuring industrialization follow-up through to production launch.
This is a results-oriented assignment requiring very little supervision.

- Analyze technical drawings, including many historical or older drawings, to understand manufacturing requirements.
- Identify and develop suppliers capable of producing aerospace parts in low volumes.
- Evaluate suppliers' manufacturing capabilities (equipment, processes, experience, certifications, technical capacity, quality, etc.).
- Issue requests for quotations, analyze bids, and recommend the best procurement strategy.
- Work closely with the responsible buyer to ensure purchase orders are put in place.
- Ensure full industrialization follow-up with suppliers:
- Procurement of raw material;
- Development of the manufacturing process;
- Tooling fabrication, if required;
- CNC programming;
- Launch machining;
- Follow up on initial parts through to production.
- Quickly identify risks and propose solutions to meet schedules.
- Act as the technical point of contact between suppliers, procurement, engineering, and operations.
- Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing or procurement in the aerospace field.
- Excellent ability to interpret complex technical drawings, including historical drawings.
- Good knowledge of machining processes, surface treatments, raw materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in supplier development and qualification.
- Good understanding of the complete manufacturing cycle of an aerospace part.
- High autonomy and excellent ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
- Practical, solution-oriented, able to move projects forward with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of BAAN (an asset, but not essential).
