ResponsibilitiesAs a Professional in Avionics Systems/Engineering, you will be responsible for a range of tasks related to the development, testing, certification, production and in‑service support of avionics systems for leading‑edge business aircraft.
- Define and manage global system and subsystem requirements to ensure safety, certification and compliance with aircraft design objectives.
- Work with system suppliers and other contractors and disciplines involved in the program to ensure seamless integration of the system into the aircraft.
- Be responsible for the timely integration of systems such as AFCS, Communications (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), Navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), Information/Maintenance & Recording (IMS, OMS, Data Load, CVR, FDR, AHMS), Cabin Connectivity.
- Write, conduct or assist with development and certification testing on the aircraft and/or on test benches.
- Review, analyze and approve test results.
- Conduct and support system and aircraft verification and validation according to ARP‑4754.
- Manage, review and approve supplier avionics system deliverables.
- Collaborate with certification authorities and/or support their delegates for obtaining system certification.
- Support final assembly line and aircraft in‑service for any design‑related issues and ensure resolution.
- Participate in the development and implementation of tools and processes necessary to the function to achieve our organizational goals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of software for customizing crew alert logic and synopsis pages, configuring I/Os in an IMA environment, and automating aircraft‑level functions.
- Hold a university degree in electrical, electronics, software, aerospace engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of avionics system integration experience.
- Strong knowledge of avionics systems.
- Understand how these systems integrate and interact with the entire aircraft.
- Experience with modular integrated avionics systems (IMA) is an advantage.
- Experience in specifying, designing, integrating, testing and certifying avionics systems on aircraft.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as DO‑178, DO‑160, DO‑254 and ARP‑4754 is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Excellent problem‑solving, work‑planning and prioritization skills.
- Works well in a team.
- Willing to travel.
This position incorporates a hybrid work schedule and requires mandatory presence two days per week at the Bombardier offices in Montreal.
