Company Description

Headquartered in Montreal, Detroit and Munich, Vention helps manufacturers automate their operations in record time with the only hardware and software AI-powered platform built for the factory floor. Our technology powers over 25,000 machines across 4,000 factories across 5 continents and we have the privilege to work with a significant proportion of Fortune 500 manufacturers, from space rockets, to electrical cars, to robotics.

At Vention, you’ll work alongside driven and talented people who care deeply about their craft and the impact they create. We’re a team of high achievers who grow through meaningful work, solving complex challenges, learning fast, and seeing the results of our efforts every day.

We move quickly and aim high, but we do it together with care, collaboration, and respect. Our culture celebrates diverse perspectives and supports your growth through intentional development, strong leadership, and opportunities to make a real difference.

What You’ll Do
  • Validate complete electromechanical systems before shipment:
Conduct outgoing quality control (OQC) on integrated Rapid Series cells — verifying wiring routing, power distribution, pneumatics, structural integrity, and overall workmanship against electrical and assembly drawings.

  • Verify safety circuits to spec:
Validate E-stop continuity, safety relays, and laser area scanner configuration, including safety-rated zone limitation and stopping-distance behavior, so each system performs as designed in fenceless and fenced layouts.

  • Confirm firmware and software readiness:
Power up controllers and robot arms, confirm they communicate across the system, verify the correct firmware is flashed and interfaces are functional, and validate that the Palletizer Machine App loads and operates as intended.

  • Verify multi-discipline BOMs and configuration:
Confirm controllers, drives, safety equipment, grippers, conveyors, and accessories are the correct revision, correctly installed, and correctly configured.

  • Author inspection & test protocols:
Develop, document, and maintain the inspection and functional test procedures for other electromechanical products — motors, controllers, modules, and sub-assemblies — so quality is repeatable and traceable across the product line.

  • Perform mechanical & structural checks:
Validate fit, form and function of mechanical components using tools such as calipers, torque wrenches, and squares.

  • Manage non-conformances:
Identify and document non-conforming products, raise NCRs, and create ECNs when a design change is required, communicating findings for timely disposition with suppliers.

  • Maintain records & traceability:
Keep accurate inspection, test-result, and component-traceability records in the ERP / quality management system.

  • Care for test equipment:
Ensure inspection and electrical test tools are assigned, calibrated, and maintained.

  • Drive continuous improvement:
Recommend process improvements and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Support cross-functionally:
Work with Engineering, Integration, Production, Procurement, and Reliability to resolve technical and supplier issues.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or a DEC in Automated Manufacturing / Electromechanical Technology with relevant experience).

  • 1–3 years of experience in quality, test, controls, or validation of electromechanical assemblies or integrated automation systems.

  • Solid ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, multi-discipline BOMs, assembly drawings, and system-level specifications.

  • Hands-on electrical validation skills: multimeters, continuity testers, power supplies; comfortable verifying power distribution and signal integrity.

  • Firmware experience — flashing, verifying, or troubleshooting firmware on controllers, drives, or embedded modules, and confirming firmware interfaces behave as specified.

  • Experience with structural/dimensional inspection tools (calipers, torque wrenches, squares).

  • Familiarity with cobot/industrial robot integration and motion control platforms (UR, FANUC, or similar) — a strong asset.

  • Understanding of safety circuit validation (E-stop,…
