Huawei Canada is seeking an intern engineer for an 8-12 month position in its Advanced Optical Technology Lab. Candidates should be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Electrical Engineering. This role emphasizes non-coherent transmission, programming in Matlab or Python, and collaboration within a diverse, innovative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and simulate IMDD transmission systems
• Model end-to-end non-coherent optical transmission
• Analyze Hollow-Core Fiber and gas absorption impacts
• Explore efficient signaling and equalization methods
• Study high launch power effects on system performance
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in Master’s/PhD in Electrical Engineering
• Solid background in optical fiber transmission
• Understanding of direct-detection systems and noise penalties
• Familiarity with Matlab and/or Python
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
