Reporting to the Director, Senior Talent Buyer, the Comedy Touring Coordinator will be responsible for assisting and supporting the entire booking, contracting, and execution process for comedy shows across MRG’s portfolio. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects h a keen interest in the comedy community and industry trends, you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy being part of the process that brings live comedy tours to Canadian audiences.
TheFine Print:
- Assist Comedy Buyers on all daily tasks.
- Communicate with external venues across Canada for rates and date availability.
- Request avails, create avails grids, and submit Challenges.
- Prepare offers for review.
- Assist and oversee booking and execution process with and for Comedy Buyers.
- Internally traffic information for confirmed shows.
- Keep Asana and show confirmation files updated.
- Liaise between marketing, ticketing, business affairs and financial departments in relation to show execution.
- Support in pre-show planning and day-of-show production management.
- Develop a network of local artists and comedy industry contacts.
- Assist in show settlement preparation and execution.
- Provide producing support across tours and festivals, as required.
- Be a leader in displaying diligence, discipline and attention to detail.
- Compile Comedy Industry Research.
- Play close attention to competitors and what tours are being announced in the US.
- Track American Tours for potential Canadian plays.
- Manage all key Festival Programming timelines and critical paths.
- Actively contribute ideas to comedy Programming meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Prepare talent grids and documents as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Due to the nature of the work, after hours correspondence may be required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in events/entertainment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with remote teams using Slack, Asana, and other tools.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with overlapping deadlines.
- Transparent and collaborative communication style.
- Bilingual in English and French (preferred)
- Interest, awareness, and/or connections within the comedy community (an asset).
