Position: CBC Music Librarian French Services Role

Be a vital part of CBC/Radio-Canada as a Music Librarian, providing essential support in cataloguing and music acquisition all from a hybrid telework environment. Bring your musical insights to enhance the stations’ productions.

In this role, the Music Librarian will focus on acquiring and cataloguing digital music tracks, supporting production from a musical perspective. You'll recommend suitable music, assist in sound sourcing, and ensure proper cataloguing procedures are followed. Your research skills will also be vital for resolving inquiries and providing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather music assets from numerous external sources

• Recommend music for various broadcasting and media

• Conduct music acquisition research as needed

• Prepare comprehensive reports for management

• Develop and refine cataloguing standards for consistency

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent

• Two or more years of relevant music experience

• Knowledge of cataloguing rules and diverse genres

• Strong customer service orientation

• Fluency in French, both spoken and written
