  • What we are looking for:

    Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Manager/Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting occupy a key role within the Corporate Accounting team, where they will be mainly responsible for the day-to-day corporate accounting and financial reporting process at Fiera Capital. This person will also participate in operational audits (internal and external), related reporting, documentation and process optimization.
    The accounting and financial reporting responsibilities relates to the non-consolidated books and financial statements of Fiera Capital Corporation.

    We are open to hiring at either the Manager or Senior Manager level, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the month-end close process by submitting accounting entries and related working paper files for review and approval as well as reviewing the journal entries and related file support prepared by the senior analysts.

  • Prepare or review various reconciliations and analyses to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the accounting records. Key areas of responsibilities include SG&A expenses, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, capital expenditures, leases, intercompany accounts, working capital preparation and monitoring, GST/HST taxes, investments and other balance sheet items.

  • Lead the regular touchpoint calls with the corporate accounting team during the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting cycles and ensure proper allocation of workload and the timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses to understand profit and loss results and balance sheet items.

  • Clearly explain variances compared to previous periods, providing meaningful insights into the underlying causes.

  • Draft and review quarterly and annual non-consolidated IFRS financial statements. This responsibility includes coordinating effectively with the consolidation financial reporting team and other entities to clear intercompany balances and transactions.

  • Respond promptly to requests from both the internal controls team and external auditors, ensuring that inquiries and requirements are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Participate proactively in process improvement projects by providing suggestions for automation and efficiency gains and participate in effective execution.

  • Must-have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) or Certified Public Accountant (US)

  • At least eight years of relevant experience in corporate accounting under IFRS and external auditing (at least 5 years of this experience must relate to corporate accounting)

  • Knowledge of how to use SAP S/4

    HANA, SAP Concur as it relates to accounting and financial reporting processes

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills and effective management of priorities and ability to meet deadlines

  • Proven ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with others (FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Conso Financial Reporting team, legal, various business units)

  • Attention to detail and have a robust understanding of the underlying business rationale of transactions

  • Ability to question processes and identify control gaps, find and propose effective solutions

  • Ability to provide clear direction and guidance to senior analysts

  • Good-to-have

  • Demonstrated experience in asset management organizations

  • Bilingual in English and French

  • Experience in using Workiva in FS preparation and review
