Join First National's team as a full-time Mortgage Underwriter specializing in Third Party Residential Underwriting. This role focuses on making credit decisions and maintaining broker relationships while adhering to company policies.
The Mortgage Underwriter will report to the Manager of Third Party Residential Underwriting. With a strong emphasis on service excellence and risk assessment, you will evaluate mortgage applications, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with established guidelines. This position demands proactive communication and organization in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Adjudicate mortgage applications within authority limits
• Build strong relationships with mortgage brokers and partners
• Ensure due diligence for mortgage conditions
• Prepare and issue mortgage commitments promptly
• Stay updated on industry trends and competition
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment
