Transportation industry knowledge and advanced Excel skills support this VIA Rail financial advisory position. Analyze performance, strengthen controls, and inform investment decisions.
The Advisor, Financial Advisory Services, partners with assigned business sectors and reports to the Senior Advisor. This position contributes to budgets, forecasts, financial plans, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities. It also evaluates projects, initiatives, and strategic business cases while supporting IFRS compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate projects, initiatives, and strategic business cases
- Support annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and long-term plans
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses
- Ensure accurate, complete, and reliable financial data
- Support audits with financial information and documentation
- Minimum five years in analysis, accounting, auditing, or finance
- Recognized CPA designation or active CPA certification pursuit
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Knowledge and understanding of the transportation industry
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
Use transportation finance expertise, accounting rigor, and advanced analytical tools to support VIA Rail’s financial performance.
