Trade Compliance Analyst to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring import compliance through the audit and review of customs entries, classification of goods, and application of Canadian trade regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong
analytical skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to advise on duty minimization strategies.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassify products in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of Canada (HTSCA)Audit customs entries to ensure accuracy, compliance, and eligibility determinationsInterpret and apply regulations from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)Review updates published in the Canada Gazette and relevant rulings from the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT)Determine applicable requirements from other government agencies (OGAs)Provide guidance on Free Trade Agreements (FTA), including LDCT/GPT statusAdvise clients on alternative sourcing or product design to reduce import dutiesMaintain and update product classification data within internal systemsConduct product line audits, including classification, origin verification, and regulatory compliancePrepare and analyze reports (e.g., customs activity, duties paid, broker scorecards, discrepancies)Deliver training sessions and presentations on trade compliance and regulatory updatesCollaborate with clients and government officials regarding classification and origin mattersReview GST applications and applicable exemptionsWhat We’re Looking For:Minimum 3 years of experience in customs brokerage and/or import/export operationsProven experience with product classificationStrong knowledge of the Harmonized System and Canadian customs regulationsProfessional designation such as CCS, CTCS, or customs license is considered an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience working with classification databases or product librariesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationAbility to interpret complex regulatory and technical documentationHigh level of professionalism and confidentialityStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWhat’s In It For YouQuarterly bonus opportunitiesHealth and dental benefitsRRSP program3 weeks vacationIf you’re a detail-oriented trade compliance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, analytical environment, this is a great opportunity to join a well-established organization where your expertise will have a direct impact.
