Senior ATIP Analyst

About the Opportunity
Our public sector client is seeking two experienced Access to Information Analysts to support a high‑profile federal Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) function. Working within a fast‑paced environment, the consultants will provide senior‑level expertise related to access to information requests, legislative compliance, records review, stakeholder engagement, and the preparation of recommendations and responses under the Access to Information Act.
This opportunity is ideal for seasoned ATIP professionals who have experience managing complex files, conducting detailed records reviews, interpreting legislation, and providing strategic advice on information disclosure matters.
Duties
Reviewing and analyzing records in response to Access to Information requests
Applying exemptions and exclusions under the Access to Information Act and related legislation
Conducting consultations with internal and external stakeholders, including other government departments
Preparing recommendations, briefing materials, correspondence, and disclosure packages
Providing strategic advice and guidance regarding ATIP requirements and compliance obligations
Supporting workload management and the timely processing of requests
Maintaining accurate documentation and records related to ATIP activities
Assisting with process improvements and best practices related to information management and disclosure activities
Participating in meetings and providing subject matter expertise as required
About You
Post‑secondary education in a relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
Significant experience working within a federal ATIP environment
Minimum 3 years of experience working within the Federal Government in a primary duty administering the provisions of the ATIP advisor at a senior level/team leader. The resources must have experience with complex Access to Information Act and Privacy Act requests
Experience in processing environmental or scientific‑related ATIP files
Experience in resolving complaints with the offices of the Information and Privacy Commissioners of Canada
Experience in identifying cabinet confidences and preparing consultation schedules for confirmation by Legal Counsel, Department of Justice or the Privy Council Office
A minimum of four (4) years experience within the past 10 years prior the solicitation closing date using ATIP software Access Pro Case Management or /Access Pro Redaction, other softwares are acceptable.
English essential
Valid Government of Canada Secret security clearance
