Position: Assistant Clinical Director / Clinical Coordinator
Overview  Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Clinical Director to provide leadership and direction for the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of counselling and psychotherapy services. The ideal candidate will oversee clinical operations, support staff development, ensure quality service delivery, and contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth within the mental health service area.

Note:

This position may be filled as a Clinical Coordinator or Assistant Clinical Director, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and demonstrated leadership capability.
Base pay range  CA $83,000.00/yr - CA$/yr
Responsibilities   Provide overall leadership and direction for counselling and psychotherapy services.
Oversee clinical operations, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed mental health service delivery.
Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans and priorities for the organization’s mental health services.
Support counsellors and psychotherapists in continuous improvement of clinical care, integrating trauma-informed and inclusive approaches.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, best practices, and trends in clinical counselling, mental health, and addictions.
Build and maintain partnerships with clients, caregivers, community members, healthcare agencies, funders, and other external stakeholders.
Conduct recruitment, selection, employee management, and performance management using a developmental supervision model.
Monitor service delivery metrics and provide input for resource allocation and annual budget planning.
Support preparation for accreditation, audits, and quality assurance reporting.
Ensure compliance with administrative documentation and client file integrity standards.
Provide on-call services and assume additional responsibilities in the absence of senior leadership.
Qualifications   Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychotherapy, or a related field (equivalencies may be considered)
Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and/or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
Years of clinical experience:
Clinical Coordinator:
Minimum 5 years of experience working with youth experiencing mental health challenges
Assistant Clinical Director:
Minimum 10+ years of clinical experience delivering counselling or psychotherapy services to high-risk or complex youth populations
Years of supervisory experience:
Clinical Coordinator:
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a related clinical or community-based setting
Assistant Clinical Director:
Minimum 5+ years of experience providing clinical supervision to counsellors and/or psychotherapists, including eligibility to provide clinical supervision under CRPO guidelines
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed approaches, mental health intervention strategies, and youth behavioural issues; advanced knowledge of evidence-based therapies required at the Assistant Clinical Director level
Ability to collaborate effectively in a leadership role within an interdisciplinary team
Knowledge of relevant ministries, legislation, guidelines, regulations, and compliance requirements
Knowledge of community partnerships and child and youth mental health and substance use services
Demonstrated organizational, administrative, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Bilingual fluency in English and French (oral and written)
Access to a reliable vehicle
Additional Requirements   Successful applicants must provide a clear Criminal Record Check or equivalent within the past six months.
Language proficiency may be assessed to ensure required bilingual skills.
