Status 0.6 FTE (Full‑Time Equivalent), temporary position 12 months, possibility of renewal.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Genetic Counsellor to join our dynamic multidisciplinary clinical team. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant to the Chief of Staff, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pediatric patients, primarily in the context of musculoskeletal conditions, and their families through genetic evaluations, diagnostics, and education. This position involves collaboration with pediatricians, medical geneticists, orthopedists, and allied health professionals to provide integrated care.
Responsibilities
Analyze genetic testing history, explain genetic risks, and support patients and their families in decision‑making.
Interpret genetic test results and communicate findings clearly and empathetically.
Support clinical decision‑making and coordinate follow‑up care.
Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and case discussion.
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to research and education initiatives.
Stay current with advances in genetics and genomics relevant to pediatric care.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Genetic Counselling from an accredited program.
Experience in pediatric or clinical genetics preferred.
Certification or eligibility for certification by the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC) or American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
Fluency in French written and spoken; capacity to communicate in English is required in order to support or collaborate with English‑speaking clients and/or stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
