Job Description
Within the Infrastructure and Cloud Ops team, the System Administrator (Windows and Unix) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and evolving on-premise and cloud server environments, while ensuring their stability, performance, and security.
Main Mission
The System Administrator (Windows and Unix) ensures the availability, performance, and reliability of Windows and Unix/Linux systems by applying best practices in administration, automation, and standardization.
Responsibilities
- Administer Windows Server and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Manage infrastructure services (AD, DNS, DHCP, NTP, file services)
- Perform updates, patches, and version upgrades
- Diagnose and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 incidents
- Participate in evolution and modernization projects
- Document architectures, configurations, and procedures
- Collaborate with Network, Security, and Cloud teams
- Contribute to the automation of recurring tasks
Technical Environment
- Windows Server
- Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, Oracle, etc.) / Solaris experience a big asset
- Active Directory / Entra
- Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Cloud (Azure, AWS)
- Scripting (Power Shell, Bash)
- Monitoring and backup tools
Required Skills
- Excellent command of Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems
- Strong networking and security fundamentals
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues
- Strong sense of priorities and operational rigor
- Good documentation and communication skills
Profile Sought
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Significant experience in system administration
- Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem / cloud)
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices
- One or more certifications are an asset
This position must be bilingual as the candidate will be responsible for working with documentation in both French and English and communicating, orally and in writing, with both French-speaking and English-speaking partners/clients/suppliers/colleagues.
