The Data, AI and Automation Center of Excellence is responsible for enabling Bombardier with innovative and secure solutions that ensure seamless information flow. These solutions support the delivery of new services to our customers and timely insights to our employees, leading to faster, AI‑enabled decision‑making.
Internship Context and ObjectivesIn the context of an accelerated digital transformation, our organization is strengthening its information management and data governance practices. This internship is part of this strategic initiative. The intern will actively contribute to optimizing document management processes within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, while developing an understanding of data governance, quality, and compliance challenges.
This internship provides hands‑on exposure to modern technological environments (SharePoint Online, Teams, One Drive, Power Automate), as well as to the foundational principles of document and data governance, in order to unlock the full potential of AI usage at Bombardier.
What are your contributions to the team?During your internship with the Data and Document Governance team, you will participate in activities related to document management, Microsoft 365, and data governance.
Document Management (EDM)- Analyze existing document workflows.
- Structure SharePoint libraries (metadata, taxonomies, content types).
- Support document migration and classification to SharePoint and One Drive.
- Contribute to the records retention schedule and documentation of best practices.
- Configure and optimize SharePoint sites.
- Automate simple processes using Power Automate.
- Support the integration of Teams with SharePoint document libraries.
- Document implemented configurations.
- Update the data catalog.
- Assist in identifying and classifying sensitive data.
- Participate in awareness activities and policy updates.
- Use of SharePoint Online.
- Automation with Power Automate.
- Design of taxonomies and metadata.
- Basic knowledge of data governance.
- Coordination and teamwork.
- Writing procedures and policies.
- Facilitating training and awareness sessions.
- A comprehensive understanding of information governance.
Education
- Student in Information Management, Archival Studies, Library Science, Information Science, or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s level).
- Programs combining technology and document management are considered an asset.
Required:
- Functional knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite:
- SharePoint Online (libraries, lists, metadata, permissions)
- One Drive, Teams, Outlook
- Basic knowledge of electronic document management (EDM / ECM) and information classification.
- Exposure to Power Automate or Power Apps.
- Knowledge of governance tools (Collibra, Purview, One Trust) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and rigor in handling and documenting information.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
- Collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a strong interest in information governance.

It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
