As a Senior Advisor, IT architecture, you actively monitor opportunities offered by new technologies and business approaches for the organization as a whole. You design solutions to meet the business needs of large-scale projects or programs using Desjardins Group’s architecture targets and supporting foundations. You ensure consistency with the organization’s structure, as well as current and future needs, and ensure that new elements are compatible with existing architecture.
You lead and influence the organization’s business partners and stakeholders on innovative, complex strategic initiatives related to solution architecture in your specialty area. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth expertise across several IT and/or business fields and knowledge of data, applications and infrastructure. You make recommendations about the compliance, alignment and development of solution architecture in your specialty areas, and produce specialized deliverables that entail a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity.
Coordination is critical; you interact with a large number of stakeholders across a wide range of fields, and interpersonal savvy is essential. You serve as an expert advisor, subject‑matter expert, resource person and coach for senior management and decision‑making bodies.
Responsibilities- Serve as an expert advisor for one or more architecture teams for projects and initiatives in your specialty area that may have a significant, large‑scale impact on the entire organization.
- Elaborate, maintain and communicate the development plan for your architecture domain in line with enterprise architecture and modernization targets, ensuring alignment with the priorities and targets set for this area.
- Advise specialists and business partners to help them orient, plan, develop, execute and monitor innovative technology solutions for various strategic initiatives under your responsibility, setting out provisions for related applications.
- Develop and update policies, standards, IT solutions and architecture targets (including supporting foundations) to support your area’s strategic projects and initiatives, taking into account issues related to data, applications and infrastructure.
- Identify and analyze issues, report major issues, establish guidelines and make recommendations to decision‑making bodies and committees.
- Represent your unit before senior management committees and decision‑making bodies.
- Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered.
