Qualifications
Hold a diploma of college studies (D.E.C.) in Computer Science Technology (Administrative Data Processing) or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have four (4) years of pertinent experience.
Other Requirements- The incumbent provides specialized technical expertise for assigned Microsoft 365 and business application solutions and is responsible for their configuration, maintenance, documentation, enhancement, and operational support.
- The incumbent analyzes operational requirements and user needs related to supported systems and develops technical solutions using approved technologies and established organizational standards. The incumbent must be conversant with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and associated technologies, including SharePoint Online, Teams, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Forms, Lists, and related Microsoft cloud services.
- The incumbent develops and maintains digital work spaces, automated business processes, reporting solutions, and integrations while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, security requirements, and business objectives.
- The incumbent provides advanced technical and functional expertise for supported applications and platforms and acts as a resource person for departments, schools, technical staff, professionals, and management.
- This role requires a continuous improvement mindset and ongoing evaluation of technologies and opportunities that can enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery.

Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Software Development, the Data Processing Technician - Principal Class works with Information Technology administration, software development personnel, technical support teams, and departmental stakeholders to plan, develop, implement, maintain, support, and optimize the School Board’s Microsoft 365 collaboration, automation, reporting, and digital workplace solutions.
Daily Tasks/Dossiers- Analyze operational requirements, user needs, and business processes related to supported systems and develop technical solutions that improve efficiency, collaboration, reporting, and service delivery.
- Design, develop, configure, administer, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, metadata structures, permissions models, content management solutions, and departmental work spaces.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot workflows supporting approvals, notifications, document management, data collection, integrations, and other organizational processes.
- Design and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and reporting solutions to support operational and management reporting requirements.
- Coordinate the implementation and ongoing administration of Microsoft 365 solutions, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and security requirements.
- Analyze requests for new digital solutions and participate in the implementation, configuration, testing, and support of approved solutions.
- Develop and maintain procedures, technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles related to supported platforms and services.
- Monitor the health, usage, effectiveness, and adoption of supported solutions and provide recommendations for improvement and optimization.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for Microsoft 365 services, Power Platform solutions, SharePoint environments, reporting platforms, and related applications.
- Coordinate testing activities for new solutions, enhancements, upgrades, and integrations to ensure reliability, functionality, security, and user acceptance.
- Analyze recurring incidents, service requests, and operational challenges and develop corrective actions and improvement plans.
- Participate in the administration and support of corporate applications, including GRICS solutions and other third‑party applications, as required.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, software development, and technical support personnel to ensure solutions remain secure, maintainable, scalable, and properly documented.
- Participate in the testing and evaluation of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation solutions, and contribute technical input regarding their practical use within the organization.
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, mentoring, documentation, and training activities related to supported solutions.
- Maintain current knowledge of Microsoft 365 technologies, Power Platform capabilities, business intelligence tools, cloud services, digital workplace technologies, and industry best practices.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the classification of Data Processing Technician – Principal Class.
