Data Science & Machine Learning Manager

Location: Montreal

Transform data strategy as the Manager in Data Science & Machine Learning at Lightspeed in Canada. Lead a skilled team to deliver impactful, production-ready solutions across the organization.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing Data Science model delivery, managing a high-performing team, and contributing to best practices within the organization. You'll drive the complete lifecycle from experimentation to production while focusing on team development, stakeholder management, and effective communication. This position challenges you to build team capabilities while ensuring that standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead lifecycle management of Data Science & Machine Learning models

• Ensure team prioritizes work effectively and is continuously unblocked

• Document and champion data science best practices

• Collaborate with internal teams for knowledge transfer

• Work closely with the MLOps team on model maintenance

Requirements:

• 3+ years hands-on data science experience

• Experience deploying models into production

• Background in ML engineering practices and MLOps tooling

• 4+ years managing data scientist teams

• Proficient in Python and cloud-based ML platforms
