Position: DB2 Database Developer
Location: Montreal

As a DB2 Database Developer with Power BI Role Overview: You will design, code, test, and maintain databases. You will ensure database stability, reliability, and performance. You will also support reporting solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, and maintain databases.
  • Ensure database stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Research and recommend new database tools, products, and protocols.
  • Ensure all database programs meet business and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with other database teams and application owners.
  • Modify databases as per requests and perform testing.
  • Manage and maintain databases across all environments.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, statistics, math, or related fields.
  • Experience with Power BI (required).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling methodologies.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau, SSAS, Cognos, or BO.
  • Advanced experience in Sybase, Unix, shell scripting, and database design.
  • Strong SQL Server development and stored procedure skills.
  • Experience with Control-M job configuration and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of file transfer mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools (SVN) and production script creation.
  • Understanding of DB Dev Ops practices.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and solve problems effectively.

    B. Tech, or MCA degree.

As a DB2 Developer with Python Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, code, and maintain databases to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Research and recommend new database products, services, and protocols.
  • Ensure all database programs meet performance and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with other database teams and application owners.
  • Modify databases as requested and perform necessary tests.
  • Maintain and manage databases across all environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BE,

    B. Tech, or MCA degree.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • DB2 Development.
  • Python Development.
Preferred Skills:
  • Hands-on experience in database development.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (DB2 or Sybase).
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Ability to create high-quality stored procedures and queries.
  • Experience with Power Designer or similar modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of Unix/K-shell scripting.
  • Strong database performance tuning and optimization skills.
  • Experience with BI tools is an advantage.
