About the role
Citylogix is looking for a detail-oriented GIS Specialist to support the creation, analysis, and quality control of geospatial data. In this role, you will work primarily with ArcGIS Pro and from tiem touse Python/Arc Py to troubleshoot, improve, and automate GIS workflows.
You will collaborate with the GIS team on multiple projects, resolve technical and data-related issues, and help ensure that deliverables meet established quality standards and project requirements. This role is ideal for someone with strong GIS fundamentals, practical problem-solving skills, and an interest in improving geospatial processes.
What you’ll do- Perform GIS tasks in ArcGIS Pro, including data editing, digitizing, geoprocessing, spatial analysis, data conversion, and data management.
- Create, maintain, and validate GIS datasets, feature classes, shape files, and geodatabases.
- Use, troubleshoot, and, when needed, create or modify GIS toolboxes and geoprocessing workflows.
- Use Python/Arc Py to read, troubleshoot, modify, and develop basic-to-intermediate GIS scripts and automate workflows.
- Perform QA/QC to ensure GIS data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify and resolve data and workflow issues, including missing, incorrect, or inconsistent information.
- Follow GIS standards, SOPs, and project specifications while supporting workflow and process improvements.
- Collaborate with the GIS team to troubleshoot technical issues and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Diploma or degree in GIS, geomatics, geography, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience using ArcGIS Pro for editing, digitizing, geoprocessing, and spatial analysis.
- Experience working with geodatabases, feature classes, shape files, and other common GIS data formats.
- Working knowledge of Python and Arc Py, including the ability to read, troubleshoot, and modify GIS scripts.
- Familiarity with GIS toolboxes and automated geoprocessing workflows.
- Strong understanding of GIS data quality, validation, and QA/QC practices.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify data inconsistencies.
- Ability to organize priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
